Scholarship News and Announcements

Sparta Woman’s Club is very proud to announce the 2024 Sparta Woman’s Club scholarship recipients. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of our members, a total of $6000.00 has been awarded to five deserving young ladies from our area.

Three recipients are graduates of Sparta High School. They are Milena Oberle, Catie Siipola and Jolie Neuschatz.  (Jolie is not yet pictured above).

Milena will be attending Kings College in the Fall to study Pre-Medical Biology. She has played volleyball since fifth grade and was the captain of the team in high school. She also coaches volleyball and has been working part-time in Sparta the past four years.

Catie Siipola will be attending Ohio University at their Health and Science College studying Pre-Nursing. She hopes to become a Nurse Practitioner and work in a city. Catie has played many sports, learned how to be a leader and has been working, locally, the last five years.

Jolie Neuschatz was awarded the Sparta Woman’s Club Art Scholarship Award. Jolie will be pursuing the visual arts in college. She is planning on obtaining her degree from the School of Art at Pratt Institute in New York City.  She has participated in a number of community service projects while in high school, and enjoys drawing, painting, sculpting with clay, and jewelry making, in particular.

This year Sparta Woman’s Club was also pleased to present a scholarship to Sussex County Technical School student Alexandra Perez. She will be attending Mary-mount Manhattan College to major in Musical Theatre with a minor in Drama Therapy. Alexandra will seek additional training in dance, voice and acting. She was involved in National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, peer mentoring, as well as drama club.

Emma Redding of Vernon, NJ is our fifth recipient. Emma is currently a student at Sussex County Community College and Rowan University. She is working towards a dual degree in Secondary Education and English. Emma has served as an Assistant Coach for the Vernon Football and Cheer Program, a Camp Counselor and a Group Leader for Safety Town.

We congratulate and wish our scholars the best as they continue to pursue their education, dreams, and careers.
